Our Story

Meze Meze is a traditional Greek restaurant located in the centre of Heraklion close to the shopping streets. Our place is very connected to the traditional Greek culture with Mediterranean cuisine. We are open from early in the morning until late in the night so you can enjoy our greek and Cretan dishes. Authentic tastes with high quality of ingredients.

Our Suggestions


Raki or Tsikoudia

Raki comes From Grapes. Simply put, Raki comes from byproducts created from the wine making process. After the grapes are pressed and the juice is stored so that it can begin fermenting, there’s a lot of leftover plant material. Here in Crete we are resourceful people and we don’t let anything go to waste!



Apaki is a traditional Cretan smoked and salted meat with vinegar, made with lean pork marinated in mix of mountainous herbs and extra virgin olive oil.



Ntakos is a Cretan meze consisting of a slice of soaked dried bread or barley rusk topped with chopped tomatoes and crumbled feta or cheese, and flavored with herbs such as dried oregano.

Our menu consists of both Mediterranean and Cretan cuisine and local meat on the grill. All dishes are a feast for the senses, with traditional presentation and wonderful aroma, these factors are sure to make your mouth water before the very first bite!
